Power Up Passages

Dust Storm.

Brought to you by

August 5, 2011

"Life is like a dogsled team. If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes." Lewis Grizzard

Have you been eating a lot of dust lately? From people who are outhustling you? From people who are outworking you? From people who are outpacing your performance? If others are outthinking, outselling and generally outdoing you all day long, leaving you in a thick cloud of their dust, you're probably not having a whole lot of fun right now.

And you need a change of scenery.

You need to get out of the pack. Break away from the grind. Set your sights on taking the lead. And start setting the pace. Start making tracks. Start creating some dust of your own.

"Watch my dust." Babe Ruth

Not sure where you stand regarding this 'dust kicking' business? Maybe these questions will put things in perspective.

Are you making things happen - or sitting on the sidelines?
Are you kicking up some dirt - or kicking the can down the road?
Are you blazing a trail - or trailing the rest of the crowd?
Are you taking the lead - or taking a back seat?
Are you kicking it in gear - or getting kicked in the face?
Are you making tracks - or gulping somebody's dust?

If you're not the one kicking up some dust each and every day, you're not really living. You're not really doing. You're really not giving life everything you've got.

And that's not good.

"An idea can turn into dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it." William Bernbach

The only way to get the things you want in life is to GO GET THEM! You have to make the move. You have to make it happen. You have to take charge and take the lead. If you don't, you won't make your dreams come true. You won't live the life you desire. You won't find the happiness you seek.

And that won't work.

If you're not where you want to be, if you're not getting what you want out of life, you better kick your rear into gear. Kick up your heels. And start kicking up some dust.

"Dust does rise, doesn't it? And so can I." Dionne Warwick

You need to get fired up.
Get moving.
Get something going.
And really get after it.

You need to stir things up.
Create some action.
Create some commotion.
Create some excitement, energy and enthusiasm.
Create some dust of your own.

You need to crank it up.
Take charge.
Take control.
Take the lead.

And watch your life take off.

Power Pointer: Make sure you are the one making the dust.
