Power Up Passages

Lock and Load.

"When I do good, I feel good." Abraham Lincoln

The world can sometimes seem like it's loaded with bad stuff. Bad news you don't want to hear. Bad problems you don't want to deal with. Bad people you don't want to be around. There's bad over here, bad over there; bad by the truckload.

On the happier side of the coin, there's a ton of good out there as well. Good times that make you smile. Good people that make you happy. Good things that make your life rich and rewarding. More good than you can ever hope to handle.

So how do you get on the good side - and even more importantly - how do you stay there? How do you go about locking out the bad - and loading up on the good?

"Be not simply good; be good for something." Henry David Thoreau

First of all, let's lay the cards on the table. Bad things are going to happen. I know that's not what you want to hear, but it's a fact of life. You are going to make some mistakes. You are going to make some blunders. And you are going to screw things up big time on occasion. Like it or not, bad is going to smack you around no matter how hard you try to avoid it.

But that's not all that bad.

After all, bad times can make you stronger. Tough times can toughen you up. To quote an old Russian proverb, "The same hammer that shatters the glass forges the steel." You CAN turn bad into something good. But let's be honest, too much bad can be, well... too much bad. And that's not good.

The key is to get rid of the bad stuff as quickly as possible. You've got to purge the bad thoughts, wash away the bad experiences; eliminate the bad stuff from your system without delay.

When it comes to bad, you've got shut it out. Wipe it out. Clean it out. Sweep it out. Get it out as soon as you can. Then lock the door. And start working to get the good going again.

"As we start looking for the good, our focus automatically is taken off the bad." Susan Jeffers

Get busy doing the things that you love. Start spending time with people you enjoy. Get out there and immerse yourself in activities that make you come alive. Focus every ounce of your energy and effort on squeezing the best out of life.

And while you're at it, load up on the fun stuff, the exciting stuff, all of the good stuff that makes life special.
Load up on the fantastic moments.
Load up on the phenomenal experiences.
Load up on the fabulous times that make life special.

And keep loading.

"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can,
In all the ways you can, in all the places you can,
At all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."
John Wesley

You can lead a great life, a happy life, a super sensational life where each and every dream you hold in your heart comes true. Or you can allow bad to rule the day.

If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be this: never give 'bad' a chance to take over. Don't give bad an inch, don't give it any wiggle room at all. When bad strikes, you've got to strike back. Strike back quickly, decisively, without hesitation. Push it back. Push it away. Push it out the door.

And start reloading the good.

Think positive thoughts. Fill your mind with upbeat, optimistic thoughts that make you feel better. Take positive action. Focus on doing something that moves you in a positive direction. Get positive. Be positive. Act positive. Look for the good. And you'll lock out the bad once and for all.

Power Pointer: Look for the good and you'll find it.
