Power Up Passages

Making A Scene.

"As is our confidence, so is our capacity." William Hazlitt

It's a regular day, nothing all that special. You're minding your business, going about your daily routine, doing what you normally do. Then all of a sudden, out of the blue, like a lightning bolt flashing across the sky, someone grabs your attention.

As this person boldly strides into your world; with a confident air of invincibility that catches your fancy, you feel mesmerized by his presence. As he effortlessly moves through the crowd, it feels like he is walking on air.

You know you shouldn't gawk, you shouldn't stare, but you gaze in amazement nonetheless.

You don't why, you are drawn to this individual. And while you cannot pinpoint the reason, you can FEEL there is something different, something interesting; something extraordinary about this person. Your imagination runs wild. Questions race through your mind. What does this person do for a living? What's he selling, what's he got going? And how do I get whatever he's got?

Even though you have no inkling of what he is all about, you're ready to buy. You're ready to follow. You are ready to do whatever it takes just to get a piece of the action.

"Put a grain of boldness in everything you do." Baltasar Gracián

When you enter a room, what kind of impression do you convey? Do you radiate a cool and calm self-assurance that people can feel? Do you exude a bright-eyed optimism people can sense? Do you illuminate the room with cheery brightness people can see?

Do you rock the house? Rock the boat? Or do you just kind of rock people to sleep?

In order to make your dreams come alive, you've got to come alive. You've got to show what you've got, show what you can do; show the world what you're all about. And you are not going to show much of anything at all by tiptoeing around, trying not to step on anyone's feet.

"As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live." Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Hey, I know you may not be real comfortable in making a scene, making a big splash or making some waves. Most people aren't. In fact, you may prefer to kind of blend in with the rest of the crowd. And that's OK. It's your life. It's your choice. You get to make that call.

As long as you're content with getting whatever the crowd's getting, going wherever the crowd's going, doing whatever the crowd is doing, following the crowd may be your ticket. But if you want more - more from life, more from yourself, more than what the crowd is getting and doing - you've got to be ready to step up. You've got to be willing to step out. You've got to be able to step away from the crowd.

And start making a scene.

"When you have confidence, you can have a lot of fun. And when you have fun, you can do amazing things." Joe Namath

People want to be around others who make them feel better, that make them feel happier; that make them come alive. People want to feel good about themselves. And they want it with all of their hearts. You can be THE person that turns these folks on, that turns them loose, that helps them get the things they desperately seek in life - and so much more.

I'd like you to take a moment and imagine yourself standing outside of a room filled with people waiting for your arrival. The crowd is pumped up. The crowd is revved up. The crowd is fired up. The house is rocking. The place is hopping. The excitement and electricity in the room is way off the charts.

These people are eager to hear what you have to say. They are ready to see what you can do. These people are there for YOU - and they want a show.

Can you see it? Can you feel it? Now imagine the double doors of the room being thrown wide open.

As everyone turns their attention toward the open doorway, a powerful, energizing wave of music rhythmically engulfs the room from every corner. Smoke billows from the open entry. As the lights go down, a single spotlight zeros in on the open doorway. And now, amidst the smoke and the lights and the music, with the energy in the room reaching a fever pitch, you stride into the room and proclaim for all to hear, "I am here to save the day!"

And the crowd goes wild.

Is this illustration a little silly? Maybe a little, maybe a whole lot; but then again, so what? Getting a little silly might be just what the doctor ordered.

When it comes to living, you can choose to poke and plod - or you can blast your way through life with boldness, with courage, with a zeal for living that cannot be stopped. Which one is it going to be?

It's time to make something incredible happen. Make something sensational occur. Make the most of each and every day by making the most of your God-given gifts.

And start making a scene.
