There is too much is going on.

There are too many problems, too much pressure, and too little time to get things done. There's too much to handle, too much to process; just too much of just about everything. And you've got to find a way to get it all done. You feel like you're up to your eyeballs in nonstop pressure.

Your days are jam-packed. Your time is stretched thin. Too much is coming in and it seems like nothing is going out (at least nothing worth talking about). You're stressed to the max and your nerves are frayed to the breaking point. And then, as if you don't have enough on your plate already, here comes another truckload of problems, pressure and stress.

There's just way too much of way too much. Does any of this sound familiar?

If you're like most of us, your inbox is filled to overflowing virtually each and every day; packed right to the rafters. You have too much to do and not enough time to get it all done. It feels like there's no room to breathe, no room to move. And even when you actually get something done, there always seems to be two or three new things added to the pile

You wonder how you'll ever get this mess under control.

Overwhelmed by the sheer size of the ever-growing pile in front of you, it's hard to figure out where you should start. Or what you should do next. Instead of doing something, you feel helpless, paralyzed and powerless. Unable to cope with the constant stress and the strain, you start shutting down. You stop thinking, you stop moving.

And the pile grows bigger and bigger and bigger.

It may surprise you, but the pile isn't the real problem. The problem is how you handle the pile. Too many people allow the sheer enormity of the pile to handle them; to intimidate them, to scare them half to death. Rather than get busy tackling the pile, these individuals get busy worrying themselves sick. Where should I start they ask themselves? What should I do? How am I going to get all of this done? And they just keep on worrying and wondering and getting nothing done.

They key to getting started is well& getting started. The only way to get this mess under control is to knock the pile down to a manageable size. So take a close look at your pile. Look past the size and zero in at the content. You'll discover much of the pile is a bunch of unimportant stuff. That's right; a good bit of the pile is minor if not totally irrelevant junk. Things you can readily toss aside. So toss them!

Hey, look at that. Your pile is already sliced in half.

Next, weed out the things that provide little or no return on your investment of time and energy. Lets be honest here; if these things aren't that big a deal, they're probably not worth doing. So go ahead and toss them aside as well. While youre at it, pare away all of the activities (i.e., busy work) that do not move you closer to the fulfillment of your goals and aspirations.

When you get rid of all of the tedious clutter that typically fills your days, you suddenly have a lot more time available for the things that really count. By excavating all of the worthless junk out of the pile, you cut the size of the pile down considerably. And here's the best part. Once your pile is only comprised of things that are important to you, the pile becomes doable, achievable and POSSIBLE.

Wow, take a look at what you've accomplished. You turned hat big, scary, nasty pile of stuff into something neither big or scary. Now, instead of shying away from the pile, you can dig in.

It's easy to go get the things you want to accomplish and achieve. It's easy to work on things that make your life all it could be and more. So start making a considerable dent in your pile and you'll start making a considerable difference in the life you and your loved ones get to live.

The Bottom Line: When you start focusing your attention on life's most important things, you'll start getting things done.
