Life is great. As a matter of fact, life is absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately some people do not share this point of view. From their perspective, life is anything but good. They see life as a challenge, a struggle; a constant uphill battle that must be waged each and every day. Regardless of how hard they work, they never seem to get ahead. No matter how hard they try, they never seem to catch a break.
Their lives seem inundated with a potpourri of bad things and bad breaks; seemingly one bad thing after another. In fact, it seems to follow them everywhere they go. As they struggle to just keep their heads above water, they lose hope. They lose faith. And they lose their zest for living.
All they see is bad - and that's not good.

If you look at the so-called down and out, you'll discover that these folks habitually repeat the same mistakes over and over and over again. Day after day, time after time, they constantly replicate the errors they made yesterday and the day before. They keep doing the wrong things - and they keep getting the wrong results. And keep wondering why things aren't getting any better for them. These individuals never seem to learn from the mistakes they've made.
Not surprisingly, they rarely improve their lot in life.
Since they never correct their errors, they keep making them and making them and making them. Like a cat chasing its tail, these people keep running around in circles, never getting anywhere worth going. Each day is the same tired old song; second verse, same as the first.

How do you see life? Is it mostly good - or is it predominately bad? Is momentum rolling your way - or rolling right over you? If youre someone who constantly looks for the good, there's a good chance you'll find it; even when there's plenty of bad to go around. If, on the other hand, you continually look for the bad, bad will find you in bunches.
Hey, bad things are going to happen in life, bad breaks are going to occur. And like it or not, mistakes are going to be made. No matter how hard we try to avoid it, bad is going to show its ugly face on occasion. And contrary to what many believe, that's not all bad.

Thats right, bad things are not always all that bad. You just have to learn how to take the bad and make it better. When things go wrong, as they always do every so often, you need to step back from the chaos and confusion and examine what you did wrong - and what you can do better. Instead of staying stuck in the muck, repeating and re-repeating mistakes, you need to do step away from the mess and do a little self assessment.
Be honest with yourself, even if it hurts. This is no time for soft selling or sugar coating. You need to ask yourself what did I learn, and even more importantly, what can I do better? How can I take my missteps and spin them around, turning them into something that moves me in the direction of my dreams? What specific steps can I take right now to turn this bad situation into a positive learning experience?
Let's face it; the only way to get better is to get better. And getting better requires correcting mistakes the moment they occur. Look, it's OK to make mistakes. You're going to make them whether you like it or not. But it's not OK to repeat them. Let me say this again. IT'S NOT OK TO REPEAT THEM! So here's an idea: stop repeating them for crying out loud.
When you make a mistake (and you will), don't just sit there and take your lumps. Get up, get better and get going again. Don't dwell on what went wrong, dont worry about the blunders you've made; you need to focus on what you can do to make things better right here, right this minute. Then get busy doing them. Find the good in the bad - then take that good and build on it. And keep building every day for the rest of your life.
The Bottom Line: By changing the way you handle bad, you can absolutely change your life for the good.
