All of us have limits. And these limits literally run the gamut. There are limits on how far we can go, limits on how high we can climb. Limits on how much what we can do, limits on what we're capable of accomplishing. As a matter of fact, we have limits on just about every facet of our lives. And while our limitations may vary widely from person to person, there's one thing these limitations all have in common.

They keep us from living our dreams.

As soon as we reach our limit, whatever our limit happens to be, we skid to a stop. Rather than go a bit further, we tell ourselves that this is as far as we can go. Instead of persevering a little longer, we con ourselves into believing that we've reached the end of the line. Convinced that there's nothing more we can do, we quit.

We quit on ourselves. And quit on our dreams as well.

Ironically, our so-called limits are not imposing physical barriers. In fact, these limits are basically MENTAL restrictions we place on ourselves. And while they may indeed be self-imposed, they can seem deeper than the deepest ocean, higher than the highest mountain and wider than the widest river on earth.

And they can scare us to death.

Sometimes we're so terrified of taking one more step, so scared of pushing outside of our comfort zone, we stop trying. It feels like the walls we have erected are too high. It seems like the barriers we have created are too daunting. Since we cannot see ourselves going any further, we give out, give in and eventually give up. And the life we could have lived just goes away.

Is this really the way we want to live our lives - worried, scared and afraid?

We all have an itch to break out of the mold and really go for it, to push our lives as far as we can take them. Its inside of us; a burning, churning desire to take a chance, to roll the dice and see what happens. It's only natural to want to see how far we can go. Virtually every person on earth possesses an unquenchable desire to do and be more.

How about you? In that moment of truth, when you had that opportunity to make something happen, did you take that chance? Did you roll the dice? Did you push yourself further than you have ever gone before?

Or did you hold back?

Way too many of us choose the latter time and time again. Instead of hitting the gas, we hit the brakes. Rather than push ourselves to rarified heights, we refuse to leap. We just cannot muster the courage to take a chance, to take a risk, to make our move. We're just not able to cross over that imaginary line holding us back and reach for the stars.

And some of life's most special moments pass us by.

Life is just way too short to live it with limitations. So here's an idea. Instead of allowing limitations to hold you down for one minute longer, why not plow right through them and go for the life you want with everything youve got? With nothing held back, nothing left in reserve; just an all out effort to make your life everything you have ever dreamed it could be - and more.

Rather than place all sorts of limits on yourself, why don't you start passionately pursuing your dreams with all of the fervor and feeling you can muster? Since your limitations are self-imposed, why don't you do something about them? And do something about them right now. It's time to give those rotten limitations the old heave-ho.

So go ahead, get rid of each and every one of them. Stomp them. Crush them. Blast right through them. Do whatever you have to do to get them out of your life. The minute you finally eliminate limitations from your life once and for all, you free yourself to be yourself.

And start living the life you deserve.

The Bottom Line: When you stop setting limits, you'll start setting records.
