Power Up Passages

All In.

Brought to you by
The Power Performance Program ©

August 5, 2010.

"It is not what we do, but also what we do not do, for which we are accountable." Jean Baptiste Molière

Ever wished you would have done something, but didn't? Maybe it was something you wanted to try. Or perhaps something you wanted to pursue. Well don't feel alone. Regardless of how much each of us has accomplished in our lifetimes, we all have a closet full of 'wish we would haves.' Things we wished we would have taken a stab at. Things we should have given a go.

But didn't.

For whatever reason, or maybe no reason at all, we couldn't pull the trigger. Instead of cutting loose and letting go, we held back. Instead of jumping in and chasing our dreams, we played it safe. Even though we wanted to do it, maybe really needed to do it, we didn't.

We didn't make a move.
We didn't take a chance.
We didn't go all in.

"It is only our deeds that reveal who we are." Carl Jung

When it comes to making the most of our lives, why do we repeatedly shoot ourselves in the foot? What makes us throttle back when we should be cracking the whip? What makes us hit the brakes when we should be putting the pedal to the metal instead? What keeps us from going after the things we want in life? Why don t we just go get whatever we want out of life?

Maybe we're afraid of failing or falling short. Maybe we're afraid of making a mistake. Maybe we're worried about what others may think. If we're looking for excuses, there's certainly no shortage of maybes to grab. But is that really what we're looking for? Do we really want to 'maybe' our way through life? Or do we want to make the most of our God-given abilities and see how far we can go?

"The magic is inside you. There ain't no crystal ball." Dolly Parton

Few of us ever give life all that we've got. Instead of going all in, we tend to leave the back door cracked open just a bit. Just in case something goes wrong, just in case we need some wiggle room. Instead of laying our cards right on the table, we hold back. Then, the minute the going gets tough; we scurry for cover. And slip out the back door.

Is this the way you want to be remembered? As a person who ran away from a challenge? As an individual who never fulfilled your potential? As a person who never had the courage to lay it all on the line? As a person who never really amounted to much of anything at all?

"Whatever your dream is, go for it." Earvin Johnson

It's easy to stand on the sidelines and do nothing; really easy as a matter of fact. It doesn't take any courage to stand there. Nor does it require any commitment, drive or passion either. But where does all of that standing ever get you? Does it make your life better? Does it make your life richer or more rewarding? Does it get you one step closer to living the life you desire and deserve?

Not a chance.

You want to do more. You want to see more. You want to be more. You want to discover how far you can go. You want to make your life all it was destined to become. That means you've got to go all in. Not part of the way in. Not almost all of the way in either. If you're going to go, you've got to go all in. And go for the gusto. With all of your heart and your soul, with everything you have.

And make your life it can be and more.

The Bottom Line: Give life with everything you've got.
