Power Up Passages

Going To Extremes.

Brought to you by
The Power Performance Program ©

May 25, 2010.

"I do not dabble in anything. I go for it in everything I do... I am extremely alive." Ted Nugent

We all have dreams; wonderful dreams, incredible dreams, super sensational dreams that make us come alive. We hold their amazing richness in our minds. We feel their spectacular power in our hearts. Our dreams drive us, guide us and make us what we are - and what we can become.

Yet far too often we fail to LIVE them.

We hear others caution us about going too fast, about taking too many chances. And we listen. We're told we should temper our expectations; that we should be more reasonable, more realistic when it comes to our goals. And we listen.

We're warned about the dangers of recklessly chasing our dreams, the perils of throwing caution to the wind. They tell us to be mindful of our limits; to be more careful, more prudent, and more cautious. And we listen some more.

So we slow down. We stop taking chances. We lower our expectations. And we stop living.

"Every great action is extreme." François de la Rochefoucauld

Are you serious? Are we really going to listen to people who want to dampen our spirits; that seek to siphon away our dreams?

I don't think so.

Instead of slowing down and taking it easy, I think we need to go in the opposite direction. No more tiptoeing around. No more playing it safe. No more putting our dreams on the back burner. We need turn it loose and let it rip. And get extreme.

No more kind of trying. No more kind of hoping things will get better. No more 'kind of' this and that and the other. We need to stop wading around in the kiddy pool and get busy living life.

And living it to extremes.

"I would rather feel things in extreme than not at all." Bonnie Raitt

We need to get extremely fired up. Not kind of fired up or almost fired up, but extremely fired up from head to toe. I mean busting at the seams fired up. A living life to the extreme kind of fired up.

That means getting extremely excited about life. I'm talking about an off the charts kind of excitement that goes way beyond anything you have ever felt; a 'so excited that I can barely stand it' kind of excitement that rocks us to our core. And making each day an extremely exciting adventure.

While we're at it, we need to get extremely happy. We need to get extremely focused. And we need to show some extreme enthusiasm, some extreme optimism and some extreme confidence. As a matter of fact, we ought to ladle a double dose of extreme on everything we do.

"Unless we go to extremes, we won't get anywhere." John Milton Cage, Jr.

Let's be honest; few people ever really test their limits. Or really push themselves very far. And they never come close to reaching their goals and aspirations.

If we're serious about capturing our God-given potential and putting it to work, we've got to push ourselves... and push ourselves hard. We've got to push past the obstacles that stand in our way. Past the problems that pester us. Past the doubts and reservations that haunt us. Past the fears and phobias that chill us to the bone.

We've got to push past our breaking point - and get extreme. Be extreme. And live extreme. Each day. Every day.

We've got to climb out to the extreme edge.
We've got to take some extreme chances.
We've got to lay it all on the line - and go for extreme broke.

And go live an extremely rewarding life.

The Bottom Line: Get extreme - and you'll get the things you desire.
