Power Up Passages

Now Playing.

February 2, 2009.

"The more I want to get something done, the less I call it work."
Richard Bach

Some of the most prosperous people on earth are those who thoroughly enjoy what they do for a living. Unlike the vast majority of people who hate what they do to earn a living, these ultra-successful sorts rarely view their occupation as work. To their way of thinking, work is a release, a pursuit, a labor of love.

They absolutely love what they do. And it shows.

While others are laboring away at a job they detest, these people are having the times of their lives. In fact, they're having so much fun it's almost seems like they're kids frolicking carefree in the park. For these fortunate folks, those who have truly discovered their own unique niche in life, work isn't work at all.

Life is truly their playground.

"The true object of all human life is play. Earth is a task garden; heaven is a playground."
G. K. Chesterton

It's not that these folks do not work, because they do. In fact, they throw everything they've got into their work; their heart, their soul, their blood, sweat and tears. Truth be told, they probably put more time, effort and energy into their livelihoods than just about everyone else.

So why is their work so much fun? Why do they derive so much happiness and self-satisfaction from their chosen fields of endeavor? And how in the world can they possibly love their jobs? Quite simply, they're doing what they were born to do. They don't do it because they have to, they do it because want to. And because they're doing what they love to do, they do it exceptionally well.

And so should you.

"The world is your play ground. Why aren't you playing?"
Ellie Katz

How's your work week going? Does what you do for a living excite, energize and inspire you? Does it fire you up from your head to your toes? Or is it perhaps a little less fulfilling? Do you jump out of bed each morning chomping at the bit, ready to tackle the day at hand? Or do you roll over and wish it would all go away? Can you barely wait to get started and see what the day has in store? Or do you count the minutes until your work day end?

If your job isn't getting you where you want to go in life, maybe you need to consider tossing it aside and start following your dreams instead. Rather than just keep plugging away at a job you hate, why don't you listen to your heart and start chasing your rainbows?

And start doing what you were born to do.

"What we call creative work, ought not to be called work at all, because it isn't. I imagine that Thomas Edison never did a day's work in his last fifty years."
Stephen B. Leacock

Life was never intended to be a grind. As a matter of fact, nothing could be further from the truth. God gave you everything you need to shape and sculpt your life to your exact specifications. You were born to win, to thrive, to make your life all it could be and more. Everything you need, all the answers you seek can be found within. You just need to look.

You need to uncover whatever it is you need to be doing - whatever it is that you gives you peace, happiness and tranquility - and then get busy doing it. And get busy doing it right now. Why let another day, another minute or even another second go by doing what you hate when you can turn things around and start living your dreams today?

It's time to get out on the playground and start having a blast. Go ahead, take your shoes off, let your hair down and start playing to your heart's content. Don't hold anything back; give life everything you have to give. And keep giving. The moment you start doing what you were born to do, and doing it with all of the passion and purpose you can muster, you'll start having the time of your life.

And start turning your play days into pay days as well.

The Bottom Line: When you stop working and start playing, exciting things start to happen.
