Power Up Passages

Let The Sun Shine In.

Brought to you by
The Power Performance Program ©

November 24, 2008.

"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows."
Helen Keller

We all have bad days every so often; days when nothing seems to go right, days when everything we touch seems to go wrong. Days that sap our strength and douse our enthusiasm, days that cast a dark cloud over everything we do. But even on the darkest, gloomiest days we'll ever encounter, the sun is still shining beyond the clouds.

By looking past the bad and looking for the good, we can whisk away the clouds and get the sun shining again. Instead of fretting over what's going wrong, which is easy to do, we should turn our attention to what's going right. Rather than worry about why things aren't going our way, we should focus on all of the good things we have going for us.

"Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but all who come in contact with it."
J. T. Fields

Life is way too short to stay down in the dumps. There are so many things that make us happy; so many things that give our lives meaning and purpose. Rather than waste one more minute feely lousy, we need to focus on the good things life has to offer.

Taking a few moments to listen to the birds sing, smell the flowers or enjoy a sunset can work wonders. Exchanging a smile, sharing a laugh or lending a helping hand not only makes those around us feel better; these simple acts are quite therapeutic as well. They help us rediscover the breath taking beauty that surrounds us. When we start looking for the good, something amazing occurs. We start seeing the good everywhere we look.

"Rise above the storm and you will find the sunshine."
Mario Fernandez

Like it or not, we're going to encounter some difficult times in our lives. And we're going to endure some disappointing setbacks. There are going to be some dark, dismal days where it feels like the sun has gone completely out. But the sun is still there, still shining, still beaming brightly behind the overcast skies above. It's up to us to push back the clouds and unveil the sunshine.

The moment darkness begins to set in, we need to move. And move quickly. Away from the darkness - and back into the sunlight. In our silent somber moments, when clouds of doubts and insecurity start to creep in and we feel all alone, we have to act boldly. That means getting out of the impending doom and gloom and into the brightness that beckons beyond.

As long as we're willing to look hard enough and long enough, even when it's darker than dark, we'll discover that elusive ray of sunlight that can light up our lives.

"Joy is not in things; it is in us."
Richard Wagner

All of us have an intrinsic need to feel the radiant sunshine on our faces, a natural desire to bask in the brilliance of the best life has to offer. Instead of allowing the bad a chance to take over, why not open the curtains and let the sun beam its way into your life; with all of the intensity, luster and beauty you deserve?

You were born to live in the sunshine, to thoroughly enjoy one day after another filled with brightness and joy. Rather than needlessly waste one more day trapped in the darkness, why not to break away from the darkness and vow to live each day in the manner you were destined to live it? Out of the shadows, out in the sunshine, with all of the happiness, optimism and contentment you desire.

May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day.
May songbirds serenade you every step along the way.
May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that's always blue.
And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.
An Irish Blessing

The Bottom Line: When you turn off the bad, you'll turn on the good.
