"Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you."
I'd like you to take a moment, close your eyes and imagine a day where everyone in the country stood up and did their very best for one full day. I'm not talking about some of us, not even most of us, but EACH AND EVERY ONE of us giving it all that we've got. Not for a few minutes, not even a couple of hours, but ALL day long. Can you imagine how much we could accomplish if everyone collectively got up and got after it for one full day?
A day crammed full of all-out effort, no complaining or explaining allowed. A day where everyone is laying everything theyve got on the line, no excuses or whining permitted. No half-baked or half-hearted trying, no goofing off or dilly-dallying around. No sitting on the sidelines, no passing the buck; nothing but a lot of doing and getting things done.
It would truly be memorable.
"There's no ceiling on effort."
Harvey C. Fruehauf
Can you picture the excitement, the energy and the enthusiasm that could be unleashed in a 24 hour span? Can you imagine how incredible it would feel to be involved in such a historic moment? With everyone pulling together, everyone doing their part, things considered impossible would suddenly become possible. With everyone giving it their all, there'd be no limit on what we could accomplish.
What if you multiplied that effort by a week, a month or even a year? Our combined productivity would shoot straight off of the charts. What an unbelievably fabulous world it would be! There would be virtually no limit on what we could do with everyone working away at full throttle.
Seeing what we could achieve together in a mere 24 hours, working hand in hand, would be astonishing to say the very least. Having everyone pull together and give their very best for just one day would literally change our lives forever. And we would never want to go back.
"Do a little more each day than you think you possibly can."
So what are the chances that we could actually get everyone to get up and get going, even for just one day? I'd love to see it, to experience it, to feel an entire country's personal power released; but it's not going to happen. There is no way to get everyone on the same page, committed to doing their very best, even for just one measly day. As a matter of fact, you're not even going to get some folks to give even a minimal effort for fifteen minutes. That's just the way it is.
If you ask me, that sure looks like opportunity looking for a place to happen.
Since most people won't, what if you will? What could you accomplish if you were willing to put your best foot forward daily? What kind of success could you achieve if you were willing to throw your entire heart and soul into everything you do? How far could you go, how high could you climb if you were willing to get up and get after it every single day; giving all that you've got, doing all that you can do?
Short and sweet; there'd be no limit on what you could do.
"Sweat plus sacrifice equals success."
Charles O. Finley
There are some people who occasionally give a token effort. There are others who pick it up a notch and give an average effort now and again. Then, of course, there are those who give no effort at all. All of these folks have two things in common. One, they never give it their all and two; they rarely accomplish anything of note. They could do better, maybe even want to do better, but they don't.
You, on the other hand, don't have to follow their lousy example. In fact, you should avoid it like the plague. Even if those closest to you won't, make sure you do.
You need to be a go-getter, doing your best, being your best and giving your best every day. Not once in a while, not every now and again, but each and every time out.
Don't concern yourself with what others will or won't do. That's not only a huge distraction, it's an enormous waste of time as well. You just need to make sure you're doing what you need to do - and make absolutely certain you're giving it all that you've got. You need to show people what you're all about by consistently giving life your very best shot; each time, every time, all of the time.
When you get right down to it, it really doesn't matter who will or won't get up and get going. As long as you're out there doing what you need to do, that's all that really counts.
The Bottom Line: Always ask yourself one simple question when the day is done. Did I do my best today?
