"Your problem won't improve with age."
Ever noticed things don't always turn out the way you planned them? In fact, truth be told, things rarely go according to plan. Kind of crazy, but that's just the way life seems to work. Try as you might, there are always obstacles and issues that alter your course and direction. Sometimes these problems are a small inconvenience, a mere bump in the road. You deal with them and quickly move on. And sometimes they're much more.
And it's those 'much more' kind of challenges that can knock you completely off track in you're not careful.
You know how the story goes. You set a goal, you start putting the pieces together, making some progress when out of nowhere - BAM - you are suddenly staring face-to-face at a big time problem. Not a day to day, run-of-the-mill, make a few moves kind of problem. You could only hope to be so lucky. Right smack dab in front of you is a nerve-rattling, palm-sweating, how in the world do I get out of this mess kind of problem.
And you're scared to death.
"Believe it is possible to solve your problem. Tremendous things happen to the believer. So believe the answer will come. It will."
Norman Vincent Peale
Your natural inclination may be to run and hide, hoping the problem will somehow just go away. But tucking your tail and running for cover every time you encounter difficulties is never going to get you anywhere you want to go. Yet this is precisely the course chosen by far too many whenever the going gets more than a little rough. You, on the other hand, can ill-afford to make this mistake.
When the going gets tough, you've got to get tougher.
Like it or not, the problem isn't going anywhere unless you do something about it. And do something about it right now. Getting aggressive and getting rid the problem standing in your way requires toughness and tenacity, plenty of it in fact. Simply put, you've got to find a way around, over or through the problem blocking your path.
"Problems do not go away. They must be worked through or else they remain, forever a barrier to the growth and development of the spirit."
Please remember this: a problem only possesses the power we allow it to have. Nothing more, nothing less. So here's an idea. Instead of building the problem up, why not break it down? Rather than look at the size of the problem, why not rely on the ever greater size of your God-given power and strength? There is no problem you cannot prevail over; no difficulty you cannot overcome. You just need to believe you can win with all of your heart and soul.
And you will.
When push comes to shove, make absolutely sure you're the one doing the pushing and shoving. Rather than allowing the problem to gain the upper hand, attack it head-on; refusing to give up or give in no matter what. If you cannot go around it, find a way over it. If you cannot go over it, find a way under it. If that doesn't work either, then plow your way right through it.
No problem can stop you when you simply refuse to lose.
"There is an advantage in every disadvantage and a gift in every problem."
A lifetime of giving up and giving in leads to a lifetime of hurt, disappointment and doing without. For heaven's sake, does this sound like the kind of life you were put on this earth to live? Not a chance! You have a divine purpose, a reason for being here. It's your responsibility; in fact, it's your duty to make something positive happen in your life. To make your life all it could be and should be. So what's a problem here and there in the big scheme of things? Not much, unless you make it one.
When a problem comes along, don't shy away, hoping the problem will go away. Size up the problem, determine what you need to do - and then do it. Don't waver or hesitate, allowing the problem an opportunity to gain size or strength. You need to get aggressive and come out swinging. If the problem persists, hit back even harder. You need to keep pushing, keep pounding, and keep plowing until you push, pound and plow right through the problem. By becoming bigger than the problem, you'll ultimately emerge on the other side victorious.
You'll dicover that by fighting back instead of running away, you'll not only rid yourself of the problem, you'll become one heck of a problem solver as well.
The Bottom Line: You get rid of a problem by getting rid of the problem. And getting rid of it right now.
