Power Up Passages

Breaking The Mold.

Brought to you by
The Power Performance Program ©

May 4, 2008.

"Your life is your own. You mold it. You make it."
Eleanor Roosevelt

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Is your life a bit on the lackluster side; maybe more than a bit? Would you like to have more, be more and do more each and every day? Then, maybe, just maybe, you need to break away from your present path and forcefully blaze a new trail.

If you continue doing the same thing over and over, day after day, you're going to end up in the same place with the same results. And if that place and the results you're presently reaping isn't cutting the mustard, then something has got to give. The only way to change where you are and even more importantly, where you're heading, is to change what you do.

"You have to create a track record of breaking your own mold."
William Hurt

There are basically two ways we can go through life. We can adopt a conservative approach to living, doing what everyone else does. This old school style is favored by most people, since they see it as both safe and secure. By not rocking the boat, we don't take a lot of chances; we don't make a lot of noise. And while we don't set many records, we don't strike out very often either.

Or we can select a different course of action, choosing to break away from the rest of the pack. Rather than merely doing what everyone else is doing, we can begin forging our own destinies. Instead of playing it safe, we can throw caution to the wind. Rather than playing it close to the vest, we can let loose and let it rip. We can blast boldly into the unknown - and see what the future holds. To many, this sounds a little too scary; a little too over the top.

"To play it safe is not to play."
Robert Altman

This taking chances stuff is way too dicey for most folks, since the mere prospect of taking a shot on the chin chills most people right to the bone. Not surprisingly, the vast majority opt to stay with the comfortable, the familiar; never straying far from the nest.

Make no mistake about it, the free wheeling lifestyle I'm talking about here doesn't just rock the boat, it tips it completely over, maybe even blows it out of the water. But so what?

What's the worst that can happen? You make a mistake, perhaps a ton of them. OK, what's the big deal? Since you're going to make mistakes even when you play it safe, why not make them going for the gold; giving life your very best shot?

"The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are."
John Pierpont Morgan

How will you ever discover how far you can go or how high you can fly if you continually play it safe? How can you ever uncover the magic within if you just keep doing the same old stuff day after day? How can you ever realize even a fraction of your unique God given potential if you consistently do what everyone else is doing?

If your life isn't going the way you want it to go, you've got to make a decision. You can stay stuck right where you are now doing what you've been doing - and stay there forever - or you can make something special happen by breaking the mold and making your move.

Why not let your hair down, break out of the mold and begin forging your own path, in your own style; doing what you want to do, the way you want to do it? And why not start doing it right now? It's your life, your choice, your move.

What's it going to be?

The Bottom Line: Break the mold and you'll start breaking some records.
