"Good enough never is."
When is good enough really good enough? And besides, what exactly is good enough? The answers really depend a great deal on whom you ask. Since each of us is uniquely different, it's no shock that our individual perceptions of 'good enough' are, you guessed it... equally diverse.
Some people are easily satisfied. If they get close enough, well that's plenty good enough for them. There are others who seem content with having almost enough. Not all they could have, but enough - and that's OK with them. And of course there are people who regularly do hardly enough to get by.
"Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do."
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Some people set their goals high, always looking for ways to get better and improve their daily performance. These top flight performers eagerly push themselves, anxious to discover how far they can climb, how far they can go. They strive to have more than enough - and they get it.
There are others who routinely set their sights quite a bit lower, doing little more than the bare minimum required. This lazy, lethargic group has to be constantly pushed and prodded along. Given their way, they wouldn't do much of anything at all. Not surprisingly, barely enough and hardly enough is the name of their game.
Then there are the masses huddled somewhere in between, those renown for giving an average effort; maybe a little above average, maybe a little below. But nothing worth writing home about, that's for sure. And while they give it a whirl, their effort is no big deal either. Good enough, close enough and almost enough is plenty good enough.
"We can do anything we want to do if we stick to it long enough."
Trying to figure out what is and isn't enough is nearly impossible. More than enough for one person may be barely enough for another. And not enough for some people may be close enough for others. Then again, good enough here may be hardly enough over there. Some people have almost enough, then there are others who believe enough is never enough.
The only enough that counts when it comes to you is what YOU believe is enough. Not what others say is enough. Not what somebody thinks is close enough. And it certainly isn't what someone else deems more than enough. Its your life - and it's up to you to make that very personal decision.
You and you alone get to make that call.
"Regardless of what you are doing, if you pump long enough, hard enough and enthusiastically enough, sooner or later the effort will bring forth the reward."
You must never live your life based on someone else's standards. Do it your way, but please don't shortchange yourself along the way.
Whatever goals you seek, pursue them. Whatever you dreams you hold in your heart, follow them. Whatever hopes and ambitions you wish to achieve, chase them. And pursue, follow and chase these objectives with all of the passion and purpose you can generate.
Why settle for peanuts when you can do so much better? God didn't design you to struggle and barely get by. Not by a long shot. You were put here to thrive, prosper and flourish. To make the most of what you have been blessed with.
You can settle for barely enough, maybe even hardly enough. You can get close enough, perhaps even almost enough. You can even decide that good enough is plenty good enough. Or you can give life everything you've got each and every day. And be rewarded with more than you ever thought possible.
Way more than enough as a matter of fact.
The Bottom Line: When you consistently do more than enough, you'll receive even more in return.
