Power Up Passages

Singing In The Rain.

Brought to you by
The Power Performance Program ©

March 19, 2008.

"Never allow anyone to rain on your parade and thus cast a pall of gloom and defeat on the entire day."
Og Mandino

Ever noticed how some people just love to rain on your parade? No matter how high you're flying, they find a way to bring you down. Regardless of how great you feel or how wonderful things are going, these folks invariably find a way to put a big time damper on your day.

Casting a veil of doom and gloom wherever they go and with whomever they touch, these down in the dumps individuals are perpetually unhappy. Worse yet, they seem determined to make everyone else unhappy as well.

These folks are just plain miserable - and they're always looking for a little company.

"Every cloud has its silver lining but it is sometimes a little difficult to get it to the mint."
Don Marquis

I'm sure Henry Wadsworth Longfellow didn't have these negative people in mind when he said, "Into each life some rain must fall" because these pessimistic sorts would have surely given him a really good drenching. I'm talking about soaking him to the bone.

Glummer than glum people can darken the brightest day. By simply walking in a room, they can somehow manage to suck the wind out of everyone in sight. They don't want to be cheered up nor do they want to get better. They just want to bring somebody down. And that somebody could be you!

So here's a piece of advice and I hope you take it to heart. Whenever you happen upon a gloomy Gus hell-bent on throwing a wet blanket on top of you, you need to run away. I mean beat it, scram, skedaddle, vamoose, and hit the road Jack. You need to put some serious distance between that individual and yourself as quickly as you can.

And I do mean pronto! These people are bad news with a capital B-A-D.

"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky."
Rabindranath Tagore

Life is challenging enough not to be saddled with the baggage pessimistic people bring to the table. They're going nowhere and would love to take you along for the ride. That's why you've got to get as far away from them as you can.

In order to get where you always dreamed of going, you need to possess the right attitude. And there's nothing better than an optimistic, positive charged attitude when you're looking to get things done. And let's face it; you're sure not going to get one hanging out with a negative crowd.

"It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts."
Robert H. Schuller

You need to ditch the negative people and focus on surrounding yourself with all things positive. Associate with optimistic individuals; winners that consistently build you up and never tear you down. Immerse yourself in a positive filled environment, where an upbeat 'I can do it' atmosphere fills the air.

And avoid negative people like the plague that they are.

By distancing yourself from the rainy day losers, you step out of the doldrums and stride into the sunshine. You can toss the umbrella aside and bask in the brilliance of the sun beaming brightly above. There's no one to drizzle on your parade, no one to drag you down, it's just you and a world full of opportunity. At long last, you're finally free to chase your dreams.

Best of all, there's a zero percent chance of rain.

The Bottom Line: Live life your way - come rain or come shine.
