"Kites rise highest against the wind... not with it."
Life provides no shortage of challenges that test our tenacity, that gauge the resiliency of our mettle. Seldom does a day go by that we do not encounter an array of challenges; each of varying degrees. There are big stumbling blocks and minor hurdles, large problems and smaller issues; and every one of these challenges must be dealt with daily. The way we handle these difficulties, big and small alike, goes a long way in determining the quality of the lives we ultimately lead.
There are very few people who actually relish the prospects of taking on life's most demanding challenges. After all, most folks find it much easier to back away from a difficult situation than to actually take it on. Tackling a problem, particularly a real hum dinger, takes a lot of focus, commitment and effort - and that sure sounds like a lot of work. Way too much work.
So most people simply take a pass.
"The high trees get the wind."
But where does all of this backing away or backing down ever get any one of us? Does it get us one inch closer to realizing our dreams, one moment closer to achieving our goals, or even one day closer to living the lives we long to live? Not a chance.
The only way to make things happen is to, well& make things happen. And that requires that we first get happening ourselves. Rather than backing up or backing away when trouble comes knocking at our doors, we must summon the courage to face the challenges we encounter straight on, refusing to back down.
Certainly no easy gig, but one we must embrace if we're ever going to get where we have always wanted to go.
"To fly we have to have resistance."
Sure, we would all prefer a life of easy sailing, with the wind gently blowing our cares away. Who wouldn't? But that's not the way the cookie crumbles. Like it or not, problems are going to crop up from time to time. And some of these problems put our best to a big time test.
Will we be bigger than the moment, rising to the occasion and making something positive happen - or will we succumb to the pressures at hand and allow a negative tide to sweep right over us? What we do, or for that matter what we don't do, when it counts is all that really counts. We can stand up to our challenges and make our lives count or we can stand down and be counted out. It's our choice - and ours alone. So how about it, are you up to the challenge?
"Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful."
Joshua J. Marine
George Patton once stated, "Accept the challenges so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory." Instead of dreading the tough challenges life offers up, why not adopt a different tact and start looking at them as opportunities to turn your life around? And rather than cringing or shying away whenever a challenge arrives on the scene, why not jump at the chance to tackle the problem before it tackles you?
The moment you decide to rise up to life's challenges, refusing to back up or back away when your back is pinned to the wall, something amazing happens. As if by magic, you uncover an amazing source of strength buried within; an unbeatable, undefeatable reservoir of power capable of plowing through any and all troubles in your path.
The minute you unleash this unstoppable power on your various problems, troubles and challenges, backing down immediately becomes a thing of the past. Suddenly there's no such thing as a problem too large, too tough or too challenging. Instead of running for cover whenever a challenge appears, you step forward and take on the issue at hand boldly, forcefully, and confidently.
And here's some icing to put on your cake: by challenging yourself you set yourself free; free to achieve your fondest dreams, free to accomplish your most cherished goals and free to make your life everything you have ever hoped it could be and more.
The Bottom Line: Challenge yourself to overcome each and every problem you encounter; each and every problem, each and every time and you'll soon find yourself basking in the exhilaration of victory.
