"It is always the adventurers who do great things."
Charles De Montesquieu
When it comes to getting things done, are you an always type of individual, a strong willed winner who ALWAYS does whatever is needed to get the job done - or are you the sort of person who ALMOST gets it going, but doesn't? Like it or not, far too many of us fall into the latter category, rarely if ever giving life our very best shot. And that's a shame.
Whenever the words almost, just about or not quite are spoken; what are we really talking about? Basically, we're talking about getting close but not getting it done. Powerless and ineffective, these underwhelming words invariably depict a feeble, futile, pathetic attempt that predictably falls short. And that's not going to cut it if you truly want to fulfill your destiny.
"Victory is always possible for the person who refuses to stop fighting."
Your time on earth is fleeting, way too short to give anything but the best you're capable of giving. Not almost the best or close to the best you can give, but the very best within you. So let me ask you, how many times have you almost got started, almost got it going, almost made it to the finish line... but didn't? How many opportunities have you almost taken advantage of, almost made happen, almost completed... but couldn't?
Oh sure, you had your 'reasons' why you didn't get the job done. But truth be told, there is one reason and only one reason why you fell short: you didn't give it everything you've got; you didn't lay it all on the line. As a result, a broken trail of unfinished business and unfulfilled dreams is all you left behind.
"The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
Thomas A. Edison
Of course you could have, should have and wished you would have started this or finished that a thousand times over. In fact, you've probably wished a million times that you would have gone the extra mile or made the extra effort when you were right there, oh so close; so close you could almost touch it. You almost made it happen, you almost got there, you almost finished; but you didn't.
Make no mistake about it; there is a huge difference between almost getting started and actually finishing the job, almost making it happen and actually getting it done. Now don't get me wrong, he 'almost' crowd possesses no shortage of excuses and reasons they didn't get it done. They seem to take some sort of comfort in knowing that they almost got around to starting, almost gave it a try. Getting close seems perfectly close enough for them.
The always crowd is altogether different, both in approach and effort expended. While they enjoy their trip to the top, they keep their eyes intently focused on achieving the goals they have set for themselves. They fervently believe that if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well. And that means finishing - and finishing in style.
"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing."
How about you? Are you going to fritter away one opportunity after another in the almost mode or are you going to make a name for yourself by adopting a never quit, refuse to lose attitude that cannot be stopped? Instead of wasting one more chance or squandering one more opportunity, why not make the most of every moment by developing the habit of always giving life your very best?
Half finished jobs and half-done projects are a dime a dozen. History is replete with half-hearted attempts and half-baked efforts by people who almost made the grade, almost made something happen. Isn't it about time you tossed the almost way of life out the window once and for all and started writing your own chapter in the history books with an 'always' approach to living?
Want a sure-fire way to succeed in every endeavor you undertake? Then make sure that you always get started - and then make absolutely certain you always finish what you start.
The Bottom Line: Always give your very best every moment of every single day.
