"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."
All of us have been to a movie theater or perhaps rented a movie to watch at home. Before the feature presentation begins, we are treated to one or more previews of coming attractions. These previews showcase movies that will be released in the not too distant future, providing us an abbreviated sneak peek of these upcoming movies.
Why do the people in the movie making business insert these little teasers before the feature presentation begins? Do they do it for filler or just to take up space? No, not at all. Do they showcase these coming attractions just to make us a wait a little longer before the main show we paid to see begins? Of course not. Their reason for providing a preview of coming attractions is plain and simple. These people know how to market.
"Dreams and goals are coming attractions in your life."
Whenever we rent a movie or show up at the theater, their marketing game plan is always the same. They show us one or more previews, we get interested and as a consequence, we come back for more. Then when come back for more, the process begins all over and we are once again treated to a preview of various coming attractions. We can learn a valuable lesson from these marketing gurus.
The importance of incorporating this power packed exercise into our daily routine, whereby we preview our own coming attractions in ADVANCE cannot be overstated. The simple act of previewing our upcoming successes BEFORE THEY OCCUR can keep us focused, motivated and energized.
"Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens."
A student who wants to receive an "A" in a course at school that he or she is taking needs to vividly envision the benefits of earning that "A"... in advance. The Realtor who wishes to become a multimillion dollar producer must first see herself or himself as that top producing agent... in advance. Adults who want to become the best parents in the world must first picture themselves as great parents... in advance.
The way we see ourselves and the future we visualize for ourselves play a significant role in the way we live our lives. The importance of mastering this visualization process is crucial for your continued growth and development. Winners consistently preview their coming attractions in their minds.
They see the successes they will enjoy - in advance. They feel the exhilaration of winning - in advance. They can imagine how great it will feel to achieve their goals - in advance. Winners can actually feel the power of doing their best and being their best - in advance. Daily implementation of these visualization techniques is not optional. In order to maximize your abundant potential and turbo-charge your growth and development, these visualization techniques must become a daily ritual.
"Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture."
Norman Vincent Peale
In order to get the good stuff out, you need to put the good stuff in. You need to make previewing your coming attractions an absolute daily requirement. We suggest you set aside a few minutes daily, at the beginning of each day and before you retire for the evening, to preview your successes in advance. We want you to imagine just how good it would feel to complete the project you are working on or attain the goals you are working towards.
We want you to touch it. We want you to see it. We want you to feel it, really feel it! Then just like the video tape in your VCR, we want you to play it over and over and over again - touch it some more, see it some more, feel it some more - make it come alive inside of you. Then we want you to go out there and make it happen.
When you regularly preview your upcoming attractions in advance, these attractions ultimately become your reality, springing to life even faster and better than you ever imagined!
The Bottom Line: In life, what you see is what you get. So see it - and then go get it.
