"People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing."
When did you last experience a super sensational day? Were talking about a day that was simply fantastic in every aspect from start to finish. A fun day, an enjoyable day, a day you will cherish forever - a truly unforgettable day. Was it today, last week, last month, last year... or maybe even longer? Or do you not even remember the last time you had such a memorable day?
In the fast paced society in which we all live, far too often having fun is not real high on our list of priorities. Oh sure, we still like to have fun, but with all the pressures, worries and stress day to day living presents, sometimes theres just not a whole lot of time left in the having fun department.
"Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one."
What happened to all the fun you once knew? You do remember fun, don't you? The kind of fun you once enjoyed as a child, romping and stomping all over the playground, having the time of your life without a care in the world. Jumping, running, bouncing and laughing were once the name of the having fun game. Where did it all go - and why?
Nowadays we go, go, go and go some more; simultaneously juggling all sorts of tasks, errands, commitments and activities daily, rarely enough hours in the day to get it all done. When you tack on the additional responsibilities of your job, home and family, our daily schedule fills up quickly; way too quickly. With all the juggling going on, sometimes we skimp on the fun - or just skip it altogether.
"Live and work but do not forget to play, to have fun in life and really enjoy it."
When did we get too busy to have fun? Are the added pressures of work siphoning away a good bit of the fun time we once knew? No, not really. Then is it the additional responsibilities that come with raising a family that take a toll on our ability to have fun anymore? No, that's not the case either. So whats the deal, why are we unable to recapture the childlike enthusiasm we felt as children, the zeal for living that made life so much fun? In a nutshell, we simply forgot how to have fun - and when to have it.
It's only natural to long for those days way back when, those magical frozen-in-time moments when life was filled with fun and good times. Most of us do from time to time. What would you give to replace all the stress, worries and pressure that now fill your day with that childlike excitement that once dominated your younger days, to bring back that fountain of youth feeling you thought you'd never lose? I've got some really good news for you: it doesnt take a whole lot at all to make life fun once again.
"I try to learn from the past, but I plan for the future by focusing exclusively on the present. That's were the fun is."
Instead of allowing all the hustle and bustle to wear you down and wear you out, maybe what's needed is a complete about-face; a totally different approach to your daily routine. Instead of putting fun on the back burner, getting around to it if and only if you have time, you need to incorporate fun into everything you do. Not possible, you say? Nonsense! You CAN ABSOLUTELY accomplish everything you need to do every day and still have a ton of fun along the way. It's up to you.
For starters, why not lighten things up a bit? In fact, why not lighten things up a lot? Too often we needlessly carry the weight of the world on our shoulders, allowing the trials and tribulations of life to suck the fun out of living. Life was meant to be exciting, exhilarating and yes, fun.
Rather than getting bogged down and stressed out to the max, why not kick off your shoes, let your hair down for a spell and just cut loose? Instead of feeling down in the dumps, why not rekindle the fun-filled passion for living that still burns brightly inside - just for the fun of it? When you start replacing your worries with hopefulness, optimism and an unbridled zest for living - the very same traits you exhibited in your earlier days - life will suddenly become a lot more thrilling, a lot more interesting and you guessed it, a heck of a lot more fun. And I bet that's a feeling you can learn to live with.
The Bottom Line: When you make fun the name of the game, the game of life suddenly becomes a lot more fun.
