”Life is the art of drawing sufficient conclusions from insufficient premises.”
Samuel Butler

Few can argue that a regular exercise regimen can keep us fit and enhance the quality of our lives. When we work out, we feel better and look better. Yet there is one type of exercise that we should avoid at all costs. And what’s that one exercise? It’s ‘jumping to conclusions.’

OK, maybe it’s not really an exercise after all; but jumping to conclusions can definitely be hazardous to your health and overall well being. When we jump to conclusions, in a frenzied attempt to get where we want to go as quickly as possible, we are prone to making mistakes and worse yet, jumping to the wrong conclusions as well.

”Too many people confine their exercise to jumping to conclusions, running up bills, stretching the truth, bending over backward, lying down on the job, sidestepping responsibility and pushing their luck.”
Unknown Author

Why do we oftentimes rush into things without thinking these things through? The answers lie in the fast-paced society we all live in today, where sooner is always better. In all of the hustle and bustle that surrounds us daily, we are subjected to relentless pressure to act — and act right now.

We don’t want to get lost in the shuffle, fearing that if we wait or hesitate, even for the few precious moments it takes to gather our thoughts and calm our emotions, we may lose out to someone else. So we jump. And quite often, we land hard.

”I want to be a reflection of what's going on and let people draw their own conclusions.”
Neil Young

Rather than embracing a look before you leap approach to living, where we make our own decisions based on analyzing our available options, we all too often push ourselves too hard and too fast and predictably end up too upset and too stressed out to accomplish much of anything at all. Sound familiar?

Instead of blowing your cool when the heat reaches your boiling point, why not chill for a few moments and collect your thoughts and calmly consider your choices? Rather than reacting franticly to the fast and furious pace outside, why not choose to slow things down on the inside and take it from there?

”Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide.”
Napoleon Bonaparte

Outstanding decisions form the foundation for an outstanding life. And outstanding decisions come from taking the time to think through each problem presented and making the right choice from the possibilities available. Will you always make the right choices? No, but chances are good you will make better choices when you stay cool, calm and collected when the heat is on. Rather than constantly jumping to all sorts of ill-conceived conclusions, you can start drawing your own conclusions instead.

Life is never a foregone conclusion. You get a chance each and every day to make life everything you have ever dreamed it could be — and more. Contrary to what many believe, you have complete control of where you’re going and how you’re going to get there.

”To succeed, jump as quickly at opportunities as you do at conclusions.”
Benjamin Franklin

The choice is yours and yours alone. You can give up when the going gets rough, allowing outside factors and influences to determine your fate. Or you can draw your own conclusions by taking the reigns and taking control from this day forward. Instead of allowing life to dictate your terms, why not elect to paint yourself an awe inspiring self portrait? It’s time to replace the high stress, pressure packed life you led in the past with an eye-catching, attention grabbing picture of happiness, contentment and self-satisfaction.

When you start drawing your own conclusions, you begin the process of drawing upon your immense God given talents and gifts. Then, instead of using someone else’s easel and brushes, you can start over with a fresh new canvas and paint your life the way you’ve always imagined it could be. You can replace that drab and dreary past with a fabulous future draped in a vibrant rainbow of dazzling, incredible color. By meticulously painting your life anew in magnificent, radiant, breathtaking color — where anything and everything you’ve ever wanted is now well within your reach — your dreams suddenly spring alive with an electrifying excitement and passion you’ve never experienced before.

A fantastic future beckons, waiting for you to jump out and embrace it. Isn't it about time that you started drawing your own conclusions in life and living life on your terms? You bet it is! It's time to reach out and grab your dreams and hold them close to you forever.

The Bottom Line: Instead of jumping to conclusions, why not opt to jump at the opportunity to make your life everything it could be... and more?
