Power Up Passages

Fortune Teller.

Brought to you by
The Power Performance Program ©

January 27, 2005.

“Fortune favors the prepared mind."
Louis Pasteur

How would it feel to wake up one morning, without a trace of warning whatsoever, and discover that you had become a fortune teller overnight? And I’m not talking about some hocus pocus, dime a dozen, flim-flam artist plying his or her trade for a few bucks here and there; but the real deal — a fortune telling mystic capable of magically peering out into the distance and seeing what the future holds in store for you.

And if you suddenly possessed the power to actually script a fabulous, fantastic, fortune-filled future for yourself and your loved ones right here and right now, what would you do? Would you jump at the chance — or would you allow that opportunity to slip away? Would you move quickly to turn all of those wonderful wishes you’ve always held close to your heart into reality — or would you simply turn your back on your future instead? Seems like an easy choice.

“A wise man turns chance into good fortune.”
Thomas Fuller

All right, let’s see how you would handle the situation. It's early in the morning, you wake up and all of a sudden… BOOM, you’ve become a fortune teller supreme. Once the initial shock wears off, what would you do? Would you hit the snooze button, roll back over and try to catch a few more winks, chalking it all up to some sort of quirky, crazy dream?

Or would you instead jump out of bed and JUMP at the chance to check out the enormous pot of gold just waiting for you out there in the distance? Now that’s an easy choice — or is it?

“The mould of a man's fortune is in his own hands.”
Francis Bacon

Napoleon Hill once said that “Ideas are the beginning points of all fortunes.” And make no mistake about it; there is not one amongst us who doesn’t awake each and every morning with what sometimes seems like a million ideas in our minds.

Wild ideas, off the wall thoughts and fanciful notions come bounding through our heads as soon as our eyes pop open, whirling back and forth at a furious pace, bouncing here and there and all over the place. Yet few ever harness a mere fraction of the unlimited power of this spectacular fireworks display that goes off in our minds every day of our lives.

While this frenetic firestorm is taking place a mile a minute, most of us are too caught up in the bleary eyed act of just waking up. Instead of seeing the enormous opportunity that is literally knocking the doors off their hinges, we spend our early morning moments trying to clear the hazy daze from our brains.

“Only learn to seize good fortune, for good fortune is always here.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

As one life changing idea after another zips, zaps and zooms right in front of us, we stumble and bumble seeking that first cup of coffee to jumpstart our engines. Instead of seizing these ideas as they spring to life, scooping up these sizzling fireballs by the truckload, we don’t even know they’re there. And that’s not only a shame; it can eventually become a life shattering tragedy. If we repeatedly fail to grab good fortune as it comes into view, it will slowly but surely fade away.

So here’s an idea worth grabbing. Instead of missing out on the greatest show on earth, trudging through one ho-hum day after another, why not elect to see and seize good fortune every morning of your life? By regularly tapping into this nonstop, whirling dervish of fresh, hot off the griddle ideas whizzing all around you every morning, you will set yourself ablaze with a power packed blast of explosive, turbocharged energy that will burn all day and into the night; setting the stage for yet another fireworks extravaganza the very next morning.

Tomorrow morning, instead of reaching for the coffee pot, why not choose to reach deep down inside of yourself and get the day off to the rip roaring start it deserves?

The ancient Roman poet Virgil once said, “Fortune sides with him who dares.” So how about it? Are you daring enough to grab your fortune and run with?

The Bottom Line: A fabulous fortune can be yours for the taking when you start making the most of every moment.
