Power Up Passages

A World of Possibilities.

Brought to you by
The Power Performance Program ©

February 10, 2004.

“I love those who yearn for the impossible.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

When it comes to making their dreams come true, there are basically two approaches people utilize as they weave their way through life. One way is to believe that virtually anything and everything they have set their hearts on having or doing is out of their reach or beyond their control. Rather than seizing the day and the infinite array of possibilities they are presented daily, they resign themselves to the harsh reality that the good life is just not in the cards. With an unrelenting string of impossibilities sadly ruling their days, they lead a life filled with scarcity and doing without.

Then there are those others; the select few bold enough to relentlessly chase their dreams. This group consistently sees possibilities where the majority sees roadblocks and persistently perceives the potential where nearly everyone else can only observe life’s obstacles. These daring trailblazers choose a much more aggressive line of attack than their ‘sit on the sidelines’ contemporaries; looking for ways to attempt the impossible, to make their wildest dreams come true right before their very eyes. As a result, these prime time performers never run out of promising possibilities to pursue.

“Our aspirations are our possibilities.”
Robert Browning

How do you presently see the world around you? Do you invariably see an endless procession of possibilities passing your way every day or does it sometimes seem like that possibility parade never makes it to your end of the street?Do your aspirations become promising possibilities — or just impossibilities instead?

And those goals you have set for yourself, those special hopes and dreams you desperately yearn to achieve, are they well within your grasp or well beyond your reach? Do you see a world teeming with possibilities, with each day bringing more excitement and fulfillment than the day before — or do you find yourself staring squarely at a daily grind sorely lacking in the fun and excitement department?

“Our thoughts and imagination are the only real limits to our possibilities.”
Orison Swett Marden

Dale Carnegie once said, “We all have possibilities we don't know about. We can do things we don't even dream we can do.” Regardless of whether we realize it or not, each of us holds within ourselves a mighty reservoir of power and might capable of taking us places we can barely imagine ourselves going. Fabulous places, astonishing places; places that our dreams are made of.

Yet time and again we forget to plug into this amazing storehouse within and by failing to do so, we severely limit our possibilities in the process. Instead of setting our lives ablaze with more fire and fervor than we’ll ever require, we unknowingly set limits on just about everything we say, think and do. Instead of seizing possibilities and making our lives the rousing success they deserve to be, we sadly saddle ourselves with hopelessness and despair.

“Every man believes that he has greater possibilities.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Brian Tracy had this to say about our possibilities: “The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean unsailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good.” You need to sail those oceans that you long to sail. You need to explore that uncharted and unfamiliar territory that calls out your name, stepping into the unknown with a sense of purpose and direction. And more than anything else, you really need to let channel everything you’ve got into being — and doing — the best that you can.

Why allow even one more day to slip away when there is so much possibility and promise out there that can be lived right this minute? Come on, the only way to find out exactly how far you can go and discover what you are truly capable of achieving is to push yourself beyond the possible into what you once believed was impossible.

The moment you finally let go and allow that highly creative imagination to let loose, all of those possibilities you’ve kept locked up for years will come rushing forward like a mighty river overflowing its banks. Then, as all of those hopes and dreams you've always held in your heart spring to life, a world of possibilities you never knew existed will unveil itself to you. Best of all, every one of those imprisoning impossibilities that have held you back or held you down in the past will be washed away for good.

The Bottom Line: Don’t just dream the impossible dream — get busy living it today!
