“Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.”
Benjamin Franklin

Every day we hear countless people complain about how they wish they had done this or wish they had tried that in their lives. To hear them talk, you would think that there is no end to their ‘could have, should have, wished they would have’ list. What a sad tragedy to be sure.

Instead of making the most of the moment at hand and making something happen right now, they somehow reason that it is now way too late in life for them to make their move. Although they would dearly like to make their dreams come true, they believe that life’s golden opportunities have passed them by. They couldn’t possibly be any more wrong.

“It's only too late if you don't start now.”
Barbara Sher

What good can ever come from wasting your precious time or energy worrying or fretting about all those things didn’t do or didn’t try in the past? Not one bit, since what’s done is done. Yet way too many good people, fine folks who deserve to live the lives they desperately desire, feel their best days are long gone — and gone for good. They fail to see and then seize opportunities as they occur, since they are too busy glancing into the rear view mirror of their lives.

Come on, let’s face the music. What’s behind us is behind us and that’s precisely where it should stay. Past miscues, mistakes and missteps are no big deal unless you choose to make them so. And you shouldn’t. Hey, who amongst us hasn’t wished they had made better choices or gone in different directions in the past? But as long as we are willing to keep giving life another shot, it’s never too late to stoke the fires within and bring out our very best.

“The time for action is now. It's never too late to do something.”
Carl Sandburg

Is there something that you really wished you had done in your life — or maybe even two or three or more? And are there some stones still left unturned in your life that you would dearly love to turn just to see what might happen? Have you ever silently sat and wondered how it would feel to let your hair down and take one of those chances that needs to be taken? I’m sure you have; in fact, we all have. Then why not give it a go? After all, it's never too late to do something. Or maybe even a bunch of somethings.

Why in the world should you keep putting those things you really want to do, try and accomplish on the back burner when you could instead get busy and see what kind of fireworks you can create in your life? Rather than sitting around wondering how good your life could have been, you can take the bull by the horns right now and take off on the ride of your life. Once you realize that the only time that matters is this moment you have right this minute, you’ll understand how it is never, ever too late to make your move — and make your mark.

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.”
George Eliot

Regardless of how old or for that matter how young you are, it’s never too late in life to make your fondest dreams come to life right before your eyes. That’s right; it’s never too late to do those things you always wanted to do. It’s never too late to enjoy the very best life has to offer. And it’s never too late to be what you might have been.

Instead of looking back and tormenting yourself about lost opportunities of yesteryear, why not look ahead and seize the glorious day at hand! By cherishing each and every priceless moment you’re granted on earth, you will be astonished at just how much fun, happiness and fulfillment you can squeeze from life right now. And best of all, it’s never too late to get started.

And besides, better should beats the heck out of never, wouldn’t you agree?

The Bottom Line: It’s your turn — and your time — right now.
