If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
In a world that sometimes seems so turbulent and troublesome, it is important that we each do our share to bring a little more peace to the planet. And though individually we are only one voice, collectively we can make a huge difference in the world we get to live.
On this day, more than ever before, we need to remember that while we are many people spread among many cultures, we are still one worlda world desperately seeking peace. And more than any other time, we need to do our part in bringing peace to all mankind.
Do not lose your inward peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.
Saint Francis De Sales
Throughout history, we have observed how one person on a mission can make a significant contribution. And as one person, you can make a difference in the world around you today. By showering others with kindness, compassion and caring, you share the greatest gift you can ever give.
When enough people endeavor to live together in peace, the world becomes a nicer place, a safer place, the kind of place we would love to embrace. And though there will always be people who seek to rock the boat and foster ill will amongst us, we must never grant them the upper hand. By preserving and nurturing our inner peace and then bringing this peace to the outside for others to share, we will find ourselves well equipped to fend off the forces of evil.
If we are to live together in peace, we must come to know each other better.
Lyndon B. Johnson
Martin Luther King Jr. said, Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal. By seeking peace, we can bring a feeling of serenity and calmness to our lives. Even more importantly, we can help promote a much needed sense of peacefulness in our families and communities as well. Yes, we can make a difference one person at a time.
We need to be strong, allowing nothing to disturb the peace we hold within. And we need to help others come to know this kind of inner strength, opening their eyes to a world filled with goodness and hope
As Thomas Jefferson said, Peace and friendship with all mankind is our wisest policy, and I wish we may be permitted to pursue it. And pursue we must. Lest we ever forget, we are indeed one world; a collection of hearts beating as one.
We seek peace, knowing that peace is the climate of freedom.
Dwight D. Eisenhower
On this day we are reminded that the cost of freedom is always high. And that real peace comes with a price at times an incalculable price. The pursuit of worldwide peace will always be an ever elusive goal, but a goal well worth pursuing and achieving.
A. J. Muste said, There is no way to peace. Peace is the way." Let us all pray that we remember those who have paid the ultimate price so that others could know and experience the feeling that many of us take for granted a feeling of peace.
The Bottom Line: Today is a great day to share with others a piece of your very best a feeling of peace.
