Power Up Passages

Living rich and rewarding lives requires that we get really good at interacting with those around us. Nobody but nobody can truly live their life to its most abundant potential without first enjoying healthy and happy relationships with others. Without question, each and every one of us wants our relationships to be effective two-way streets that are both mutually rewarding and enriching.

So how are your relationships with those around you, including those at home and those at work? Are they as good as they could be – or is there room for additional growth and improvement? Winners readily recognize the fact that there is always room for improvement, even in the very best of relationships.

Remember, your relationships with others can be as good as you want them to be; it is totally up to you. The success you enjoy in your relationships with others will depend on how other people respond or react to you. If your interactions are not what you might have hoped for, maybe you need to pause for a moment and take a good look at yourself.

Are people happy and enthusiastic when they see you – or would they just as soon not see you again? Do people say "Oh boy!" when they see you coming or do they instead mutter "Oh no!"

When you're an oh boy!, people are glad to see you. But when you are an oh no!, they are glad to see you ... go.

If you discover people are generally not very happy to see you, that should be a clear indication that you have some selling to do. Remember this: winners are those consummate salespeople who have developed a magnetic personality that constantly attracts other winners to them. Plain and simply, people want to be around them because they bring value to the relationships they enjoy with others.

Is it really possible to improve the kind of relationships you have with other people? You had better believe it's possible! Your relationships can get better and better - and there is absolutely no limit on how much better they can get. Again, it's totally up to you.

First, you must sell you to yourself. That means you must see yourself as a good person, a positive person, a person who brings value to others every day. Then you must sell yourself to others by going out and being that good person, that positive person, that invaluable friend who brings value each and every day.

You should shower respect on those around you – always looking for ways to perk up another person’s day. You should be a constant source of strength and encouragement to people you meet and associate with, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word when it’s needed the most. You should energize others by sharing your full strength optimism and enthusiastic outlook on life.

Hey, wouldn’t you dearly love to be around someone who constantly builds you up, makes you feel better about yourself and exhibits an unwavering optimistic approach to life?

Sure you would – and so would others as well.

The Bottom Line: When you become a person people want to be around, you will soon find yourself surrounded by some really good people.
