Getting A Good Grip.

Have you ever noticed how habits, regardless of whether they are positive or negative in nature, seem to be habit forming? Although habits are generally formed or acquired over a period of time, doesn't it seem like the really rotten habits somehow manage to sneak their way into your life?

Then, before you realize you have the bad habit, the habit HAS YOU!

The habits you acquire in life can certainly get and keep a firm grip on you. And that fact can be good or bad, depending on the kind of habits that grab you. The good news is you can maintain total control over the habits you acquire and keep. By the same token, if you fail to exercise the needed control, you can develop all sorts of negative patterns and habits.

That is precisely why it is imperative that the habits you form are the ones you want to keep.

Since you do have a choice in the matter, why not dip into the good habit grab bag and grab as many good habits as possible?

The good habits you want to acquire – the positive, powerful, life changing habits - can bring you all of the fun, fulfillment and adventure that you’ve ever dreamed about. Grabbing good habits begins with looking for the good in yourself, for the good in other people and for all the good this life offers you. There is plenty of good stuff out there waiting for you every day, so don't let any of the bad stuff get in your way.

You need to associate with positive people. Positive people are those eternally optimistic individuals that help build you up – and keep you up. After all, it is a lot easier to remain upbeat and positive when the world around you is a positive place as well. And while you’re at it, you should constantly feed yourself a powerful array of positively charged thoughts. It is a whole lot easier to keep a positive outlook on life when you possess a positive frame of mind.

Why not take a moment and make a list of the positive habits you want to acquire as well as a list of negative habits you want to lose? Write them down in two columns – on one side jot down all of the super sensational, super powerful habits that could fill your life with happiness and contentment and then in the other column list the annoying, rotten, unwanted habits you want to eliminate once and for all. Then, with the list laid out in front of you, decide which good habits you want to substitute in place of your not so good habits.

Now begin exchanging them. That’s right, decide which habits you want and more importantly, which habits that have to hit the road. Then decide to make the changes you need to make. Grab the good stuff here, chunk the bad stuff there. Good habit in, bad habit out. One after another after another. Just like riding a bicycle or jumping rope, you will get better at substituting habits the more you put this system into practice.

During your early transition period from a negative to positive frame of mind, it is essential that you remain upbeat, optimistic and focused. After all, why should you expect those nagging negative habits to go down without a fight? But make no mistake about it, down they will most assuredly go when you persistently maintain a laser beam focus on implementing healthier happier habits in their place.

You will soon feel the good habits taking over and getting a tighter and tighter grip on you. As one good habit after another is added to your daily routine, you will begin seeing some unbelievable changes occurring in your life. You will find yourself becoming increasingly more confident, more enthusiastic and more energetic with each passing day. It all begins the moment you get started.

Isn’t it about time for you to grab all of those good habits you have always wanted?
