Power Up Passages

Out of Sight -- But Not Out of Reach.
January 30, 2003.

It is imperative that you realize, especially early on in the change making process, that permanent change does not occur all at once. You do not suddenly wake up one morning and discover a brand new you. My oh my, how we all wish it was that easy.

Rather, change occurs one act at a time, one decision at a time, one day at a time. You can continue to improve every day when you systematically incorporate the desired changes you need to make into your daily routine.

While change certainly plays an essential part in a winner's personal development, winners make absolutely certain that they control these changes as they transpire. Every change that a winner chooses to consolidate into his or her routine must be of a positive nature, allowing that winner to move steadily yet relentlessly towards the attainment of his or her own goals and objectives.

While the mere prospect of making any kind of change can strike terror in the hearts of some underachievers, change never frightens or intimidates a winner. In fact, quite the contrary is true. Winners welcome the challenges inherent in implementing positive changes in their lives. Winners never shy away from a challenge because a little work is required. In fact, they thrive on the challenge of change. They know full well that anything worthwhile takes effort.

You should strive to set goals that presently are slightly out of your reach, but never out of your sight. By doing so, you’ll discover that there is really nothing quite like the thrill of reaching, pushing and stretching yourself higher and higher in your quest to make your dreams come true.

As you begin accomplishing your goals, one after another, you will uncover newer, bigger and more ambitious projects to pursue. This constant evolution of change insures you will continue to grow and improve with each passing day, continuously enhancing the quality of your life.

Winners love to sculpt, shape and mold their lives to their exacting specifications. Winners do not set tiny, uninspiring, easy to reach goals for themselves. Instead, they set imposing goals that motivate and move them to action. They aggressively pursue their goals, establishing an ambitious timetable for the achievement of each of their goals. Most importantly, they are more than willing to institute whatever changes deemed necessary to get them where they want to go.

You too must have the spunk to dream BIG dreams and then show the courage to make these BIG dreams come true.

The Bottom Line: Set your goals a little beyond your present grasp – and then get busy reaching for the stars!

Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway.
John Wayne

What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?
Vincent Van Gogh

There are two kinds of adventurers; those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't.
Rabindranath Tagore
