Power Up Passages

Mind Over Matters.
January 16, 2003.

There is really no substitute for a healthy self image. Believing in yourself and in your abilities is crucial if you’re going to bring out your very best. You have got to believe, I mean really believe, you can do it if you ever wish to reach your full potential in life.

The people who regularly come up a day late and a dollar short are those individuals who are constantly besieged with doubt, uncertainty and apprehension about their own abilities. Instead of taking charge of themselves and grabbing control of their lives, they allow these misplaced misgivings about their own abilities to hold them back and hold them down.

Unbelievable as it may seem, they never allow the winner trapped inside them to win and as a result are paralyzed by these unfounded fears and feelings of self doubt. Unfortunately, they never learn how to place their full trust in themselves and their God given abilities.

Although they were indeed born to win, they continue to negatively condition themselves by allowing day to day problems and difficulties to overwhelm and overpower them. They could just as easily overcome these problems by simply using their powerful minds to find a way to eliminate their fears and self doubts, but they either do not believe they can do it or are too scared to try.

A winner, on the other hand, would never permit self doubt or lack of confidence to stand in the way of reaching and surpassing his or her goals. NEVER! A winner fully appreciates the fact that mind over matters ... does matter.

Your mind can accomplish any task you ask of it when you are totally committed to getting the job done. Total unwavering belief in yourself, without doubt or reservation, provides the needed strength to persevere through any problem or adversity you may encounter. There's no question about it, developing and maintaining a healthy self confidence can build you from the inside out and provide that all important winning edge.

You have to know, really knows, that you have what it takes to get the job done, never doubting yourself or your abilities. NEVER! You need to regularly engage in positive self talk, building yourself up -- and refusing to tear yourself down. It is imperative that you habitually reinforce your self image by constantly reminding yourself that you have what it takes, that you can do it, that you are good enough and that you deserve the best life has to offer.

But don’t stop there. It’s not enough to simply say it – you have to believe it with all of your heart and soul. You must consistently work on building your self confidence and self esteem.

Believe in yourself. Trust in yourself. Believe, really believe, that you have what it takes to be one of the best. When you condition yourself to place your mind over matters, your confidence will soar through the roof.

Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, really believe, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to solution.
Dr. David Schwartz

First thing every morning before you arise say out loud, I believe, three times.
Norman Vincent Peale

Faith consists in believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe.
