Power Up Passages

You've Got To Have Heart.
November 27, 2002.

Winners have a big heart. As a matter of fact, the unwavering strength and uncompromising commitment to excellence that all winners have in common comes straight from their hearts. These power performers realize that they can have, hold and achieve anything they desire in life, but they must first be willing to help others achieve their best as well.

An individual who strives to win at all costs and is willing to walk on or walk over others to get there can never take his or her place among the real winners in life. Sure, these ‘win at all costs’ types may occasionally gain fortune and fame, but their ravenous appetites for glory ultimately costs them so much more in the long run.

Winning is not about accumulating vast sums of money, acquiring power or obtaining notoriety as some people may have you believe. While fame and fortune are nice, winning can never be complete if those around you are failing and falling by the wayside. Winning is about doing your best and being your best while helping those around you do and be their best at the same time.

While every true winner loves to experience the unparalleled feeling of exhilaration that accompanies winning, he or she gains an equal amount of satisfaction seeing others win as well.

Where the would-be winners only see scarcity and competition, winners see far more than enough to go around. Where the would-be winners' short term and short sighted focus forces them to grab and snatch for everything they can get their hands on, the winners see ample opportunity for everyone to thrive and prosper.

While there will always be more than enough for everyone, winners also appreciate the fact that nothing worthwhile in life will ever be given to them. They realize that it takes all of the courage and strength they can muster each and every day to be their best. They continually strive to develop a 'believe in themselves' and a 'believe in others' approach. They have come to learn that the sky is truly the limit when their heart is in it.

Winners show the courage and gumption to stand up and do their best while helping those around them to stand up and do their best too. Instead of hand outs, winners willingly offer a helping hand whenever and wherever it is needed.

When each of us is willing to stand up and do our very best and also help those around us do their best as well, then all of us can truly stand out and live our dreams daily. When we're ready, willing and able to throw our entire heart into making our neighborhoods, our country and our world a better place for each and every one of us, we've got the makings of a truly outstanding world, wouldn't you agree? And isn't that what winning is all about?

Here's wishing you a truly outstanding day today!

Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair but manifestations of strength and resolution.
